Electronics / EMS / PCBA, evaluated against your requirements.
Arxline helps U.S. companies identify and evaluate independent PCBA and EMS manufacturers in Vietnam. PCB assembly quotations depend on the design package, bill of materials, component sourcing, substitutions, test coverage, and production quantities—not a board image alone. The selected manufacturer performs production; Arxline supports sourcing and RFQ coordination.
What belongs in a PCBA manufacturing RFQ?
To compare PCB assembly services, provide a revision-controlled BOM, Gerber or fabrication data, placement files, drawings, approved component alternatives, prototype and production quantities, and programming, first-article, and test requirements. Clarify who procures components and owns test fixtures before comparing quotations from independent PCBA manufacturers.
For mixed-technology assemblies, confirm the SMT and through-hole scope. Clarify whether components are turnkey or customer-supplied, who procures each item, and how the BOM, approved vendor list (AVL), and substitutions are controlled. Agree who reviews manufacturability and test access, and resolve technical questions before quotation or production.
- BOM with manufacturer part numbers and approved alternatives
- Gerber or fabrication data, assembly drawings, and placement files
- Firmware, programming, functional test, and fixture requirements
- Quantity breaks, traceability needs, and delivery schedule
Verify the EMS scope and controls.
Electronics contract manufacturing can cover different scopes. Depending on the supplier, a turnkey PCB assembly program may include board fabrication, component procurement, SMT and through-hole assembly, programming, inspection, and functional testing. Arxline verifies the proposed scope, substitutions, ESD controls, traceability, rework, NPI handoff, and any buyer-required certification with the manufacturer; no capability is assumed.
Buyers should confirm inspection and test coverage appropriate to the assembly, including AOI, X-ray, ICT, programming, or functional testing where relevant. Request representative reports where applicable, clarify traceability and certification scope, and identify buyer-specified workmanship and acceptance criteria. The RFQ should establish test-fixture requirements and responsibility for programming and functional testing; no single method fits every project.
A successful prototype does not establish production readiness. Before NPI, pilot builds, or repeat orders, clarify component availability, approved substitutions, fixture ownership, first-build acceptance, repeat-build consistency, and capacity constraints. Agree how engineering changes and revisions are communicated, along with packaging and shipment requirements where applicable.
- Relevant SMT and through-hole assembly capabilities
- Component sourcing, counterfeit avoidance, and substitutions
- Inspection and test coverage appropriate to the product
- ESD controls, rework processes, and traceability records
- manufacturing supplier qualification checklist — Record evidence and unresolved questions.
